University of Victoria is offering delivery of “Canadian Fall Prevention Curriculum” starting in May 2024.
The program is designed for those working with older adults in long-term, acute, and home care settings, as well as those interested in creating fall prevention plans.

Program outcomes
- Define the scope and nature of the problem of falls among older persons in your region and/or work setting
- Provide fall risk identification and assessment
- Assess and select fall prevention interventions based on risk assessment and using evidence-based strategies
- Identify the social and policy contexts that influence fall prevention
- Apply a program-planning model to design and implement a fall prevention program
- Evaluate the effectiveness of a fall prevention program
